The McIntyre Family
We have been intimately involved with the California wine industry for more than 24 years. Steve graduated with a masters in enology from CSU Fresno -- and hasn't stopped since! He has planted and managed vineyards for numerous wineries including Galante, Smith & Hook, Mondavi, Joseph Phelps and Bonny Doon. Together, Steve and Kim have a vineyard management company, Monterey Pacific, that has produced grapes for such prestigious wineries as William Seylem, Morgan, Artesa, Jordan, Bernardus, McRostie and Marilyn Remark ... just to name a few. As the managing partner in the Monterey Wine Company they have produced wines for Bonny Doon, Caymus, Hess, Smith & Hook and many others.
McIntyre Vineyards, was founded in 1987. With all of our acquired experience it was only natural for us to eventually start producing wines from our estate located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Our family of wines represents the essence of all of the combined efforts of artful human interaction, as we strive to create something sensual, like music, which brings great joy to the soul and allows for moments of peace during times of toil.
